Practical information for participants
Bib collection and race organization
To take the start of the Vertical Race, each participant will need to collect their race bib at the École du ski français (ESF) in Molines. Distribution will begin at 3:30 PM. It is strongly advised to arrive early to avoid any prolonged waiting and to prepare calmly.
A clothing transport service will be set up. Runners can thus entrust warm clothes before departure, to collect them once they arrive at the top. This service guarantees optimal comfort for the nighttime descent.

Mandatory equipment to participate

To ensure everyone's safety, the organization imposes mandatory equipment. Each participant must bring:
- Ski touring with climbing skins
- Approved helmet
- Powerful headlamp (essential for night descent)
- Thermal clothing suitable for winter conditions
- Water bottle or hydration pack to stay hydrated
Security being a priority, these elements are strictly mandatory under penalty of exclusion from the Vertical Race. The event is listed on the national calendar of the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l’Escalade (FFME), ensuring professional and rigorous supervision.
